Intra Vires is a traverso consort founded in 2022, a historical flute ensemble that imitates Renaissance vocal expression. Its members are Vera Plosila (cantus and artistic direction), Eerika Perkkiö (altus), Sini Vahervuo (tenor), and Ilkka Eronen (bassus). The ensemble gave its debut concert in early 2025 in collaboration with the English ensemble Accenti (Hannah Ely, soprano; Harry Buckoke, viola da gamba) at the Aurore and Ceciliana festivals in Helsinki and Tallinn. Intra Vires has also performed at the Café Barock Aurore club concerts in 2023–24, as well as with the Ensemble Nylandia orchestra in harpsichordist Matias Häkkinen’s doctoral recital in 2022 and in the Finnish premiere of the early Baroque opera La Doriclea in 2024.
Since its foundation, the ensemble has been mentored by Johanna Bartz, lecturer in Renaissance traverso at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Its activities have been supported by the Kunststiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen, the European Festival Fund for Emerging Artists (EFFEA), the Finnish Music Foundation, and the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux (TelepART).
