Nordisk ekko was a collaboration project of three Nordic early-music ensembles: Baroque orchestras Ensemble Nylandia (FI) and Camerata Öresund (DK) as well as the chamber choir Cantoque Ensemble (IS). The initiative focused on the connection between Nordic and German eighteenth-century repertoire. Our programme for summer 2021 included pieces from the Icelandic manuscript Hymnodia sacra, pieces from composers Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel and Johan Helmich Roman, plus a commission from Hugi Gudmundsson for the mixed group. I initiated the project and served as one of its artistic directors.
